Whenever an air blower is replaced, it is essential that a new Check Valve is also installed. This one-way valve will help to assure that water does not back into and destroy your new blower.
As an added precaution to prevent water damage, make sure that the blower hose also has a Hartford Loop above the water line, per diagram (right).
Illustrated (below) as transparent to show internal spring valve mechanism. Actual valve is white, chemically-resistant PVC.
Product notes: Accepts 1.5" or 2" hose. You can also use it to adapt a 1.5" blower to 2" plumbing by attaching a short section of 1.5" hose to the blower, using the Check Valve to join 2" hose. Do not cement blower connections. A set screw works fine. Installation Instructions
