*Horsepower rating systems vary by pump manufacturer, and many are up-rated. A good way to select the correct power for a replacement motor is by comparing its current draw in amps. Motor brands have different efficiencies, but amperage comparison will usually help you find a suitable, if not exact HP match to your old motor.
